How long does the bill negotiation process take?
Most Bill Negotiations are completed within about two weeks. In some cases, the process may take longer, especially during times of high demand or if your service provider requires additional steps. After the negotiation is completed, the new rate may take 1–2 billing cycles to appear on your statement due to provider billing system updates. Make sure to monitor for the updated rate or applied discount during this period.
In some cases where there may already be a preexisting promotion on your account, our expert negotiators will delay the negotiation until the current discount has expired. This is because most providers will not be able to apply multiple promotions to an account, and the current discount must expire before it can be replaced with a new one. We'll notify you of any delays via email and through a notification within the app.
When will I receive a status update?
You won’t receive ongoing updates while a Bill Negotiation is in progress. You’ll always be notified if there is anything preventing our expert negotiators from working on your bill negotiation, such as missing account information or a delay until a current promotion is set to expire on an account. Once your negotiation is complete, Rocket Money will send you an email with the results, including whether we were able to secure savings on your bill.
How can I check on the status?
We do our best to keep you updated through email notifications on your submitted bill negotiations, you’ll receive those emails from hello@insights.rocketmoney.com. If you have questions about a current Bill Negotiation request, you can contact Rocket Money’s support team directly at negotiations@rocketmoney.com for assistance. In cases where the new rate is not reflected after two billing cycles, you can also reach out to Rocket Money with documentation such as billing screenshots and confirmation numbers to resolve discrepancies. We're always happy to follow up with a service provider to ensure you get your savings.
