How does the bill negotiation process work?
Rocket Money’s Bill Negotiation service helps you lower your monthly bills without the hassle of calling your provider yourself. Our team contacts your service provider directly, verifies your account, and negotiates on your behalf. We look for available discounts, promotions, or credits that can reduce your bill.
Common bills we can negotiate include internet, cable, phone, and security services. By working in real time with your provider, we aim to secure the best savings possible without you needing to spend hours on the phone.
For all successful negotiations, Rocket Money charges a percentage of the total annualized savings achieved. If the negotiation is successful, we'll charge a fee of 35% - 60% of your first year's savings. Negotiation charges are only applied to successful negotiations. Once a negotiation is completed, there is a 48 hour window before the fee is charged, unless a payment plan has been setup.
How long will the savings last?
The length of your savings depends on the type of discount or promotion applied:
Most discounts last for 12 months
Some savings may be one-time credits
Others can last 6, 12, or even 24 months depending on the provider
Our expert negotiators will always accept the biggest promotion, discount, or credit available, as long as it does not downgrade or remove features from your account. Rocket Money will keep you informed about how long your negotiated savings will remain in effect so you know when to expect changes.
Will Rocket Money change my plan or services?
We will never downgrade your plan, remove features, or make changes to your services without your approval. Our goal is always to lower your bills while keeping the services you rely on!
