When is the Bill Negotiation fee charged?

The Bill Negotiation fee is only charged when a negotiation is successful. After your bill has been successfully lowered, there is a 48-hour window before the fee is applied, unless you set up a payment plan in advance. If the negotiation is not successful, there is no fee.

Do I have to pay the fee upfront?

No, we always do our best to get you the best rates with your service provider, we will confirm your new rates with an email notification and your fee details after your negotiation has been successfully completed. Rocket Money offers flexible payment plan options for Bill Negotiation charges: weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly (for up to 12 months).

A link to set up your payment plan will be included in your negotiation success email. Please make sure to set up your plan before the payment date listed in that confirmation email. Will I be notified before the charge?

Yes. You will receive an email notification immediately after your negotiation is completed from hello@insights.rocketmoney.com. This message will start with a subject line of: Negotiation Success

  • Is the bill negotiation fee refundable?

    The fee applies only when a negotiation is successful, so it is not refundable once charged.

  • How much is the bill negotiation fee?

    The fee is based on the amount saved from your negotiation. For all successful negotiations, Rocket Money charges a percentage of the total annualized savings achieved. If the negotiation is successful, we'll charge a fee of 35% - 60% of your first year's savings. Exact details are provided in your success email immediately after we have successfully negotiated with your service provider.

  • What happens if I miss the payment plan deadline?

    If plan is not set up before the due date, the full fee will be charged to the card you confirmed when requesting your Bill Negotiation in the app. This happens automatically after the 48-hour window expires.

  • Where can I view my bill negotiation charges?

    You can see all charges and payment plan details in your Rocket Money account dashboard and in the confirmation email we send after each negotiation.
