Withdrawing money from your High Yield Savings Account

You can withdraw money from your High Yield Savings Account any time, right in the Rocket Money app. Your money goes back to the bank account currently linked to your High Yield Savings Account.

How to withdraw

  1. Open the Rocket Money app.

  2. Tap Savings, then open your High Yield Savings Account.

  3. Tap Withdraw.

  4. Enter the amount you'd like to withdraw.

  5. Tap Withdraw to confirm.

You'll see your savings balance at the top of the screen and the bank account your money is headed to just below it. Once you confirm, you'll head back to your account overview and see a pending withdrawal in your transactions list.

How long it takes

Most withdrawals take 1 to 2 business days to reach your bank. Longer over weekends and federal holidays.

Withdrawal amounts and limits

Minimum withdrawal

$5, or your full balance if it's less than $5

Maximum per day

$2,500

Maximum per month

$15,000

You can only withdraw money that's fully available. Deposits still showing as Pending aren't available yet, even if the money has already left your other bank.

Need to move more than $2,500 in a day? You can start a larger transfer from your other bank instead, using your savings account and routing numbers. Transfers you begin at another bank aren't subject to these limits.

  1. Find your numbers by opening your savings account,

  2. tapping the "..." menu, then Account Information.

  3. You'll confirm your identity with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode before they're shown.

Closing your account? You can withdraw your full balance regardless of the daily limit.

Confirming larger withdrawals

For withdrawals of $1,000 or more, you'll be asked to confirm it's you with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. This protects your savings if someone else ever gets into your account.

If you don't have any of those set up, you'll be prompted to turn one on in your Rocket Money profile settings before you can continue.

Withdrawing on a different membership plan

Withdrawals work on every plan. If you downgrade from Premium+ to Premium or to the free version of the app, your savings account stays open and you can still take your money out. You just stop earning interest, and on the free version you can no longer add money.

Frequently asked questions

  • Why can't I withdraw my full balance?

Some of it is probably still pending. Deposits take around 4 to 5 business days to fully settle, and until they do, those funds aren't available to withdraw.

Check your account overview — if you see a Pending Balance row, that's the amount that isn't ready yet.

  • Can I cancel a withdrawal?

No. Once a withdrawal is submitted it can't be cancelled from the app. If something looks wrong, contact Support.

  • Can I withdraw to a different bank account?

Not from the app — withdrawals go to your one linked account. You can pull money out from another bank yourself using your savings account and routing numbers, or contact Support using the in app chat if you need to change which account is linked or your linked account is closed.

  • Is there a fee to withdraw?

No. There's no fee for withdrawals and no limit on how many you can make, as long as you stay within the daily and monthly amounts.

  • How many withdrawals can I make?

As many as you like, within the $2,500 daily and $15,000 monthly limits.

  • Do I lose interest when I withdraw?

You keep the interest you've already earned. You just stop earning on the money you take out, since interest is based on your balance.

  • My withdrawal has been pending longer than expected. What now?

Timelines can vary based on weekends and federal holidays.

  • I closed my account but haven't received my money.

Closing withdrawals can take up to 5 business days. If it's been longer, or if your linked bank account was closed before the money arrived, contact Support and we'll help track it down.

  • Can I cancel a withdrawal from my High-Yield Savings Account?

No, once a withdrawal has been initiated, it can't be canceled. Please make sure the amount and destination are correct before confirming a withdrawal.
