Whether for home renovations, vacations, or work expenses, transaction tags help you track your spending in a way that’s flexible, fast, and makes sense to you. Learn how to add tags in the Rocket Money app below.
Creating tags for transactions is currently available to Premium members.
To create a transaction tag from the mobile app:
Tap Settings '⚙️' in the upper left corner.
Select Categories, Tags & Rules.
Tap Tags, then Add Custom Tag.
Choose a name like "Summer Vacation 2026" or "Home Renovations" and select a color.
Tap Save.
Please note: Creating and adding a transaction tag is available exclusively on our mobile app - this feature is not available to complete the above instructions on our website, Rocketmoney.com.
Apply a tag to a transaction from the mobile app:
Tap the transaction you would like to add a tag to.
On the transaction detail screen, tap Add tags.
Create a new tag or select one from your existing tags.
Select Apply to assign your tag to the transaction.
Review tagged spending
Once you’ve added tags to your transactions, you can review them from the Spending tab.
