Removing a partner's access to your Rocket Money account

Instructions for how to remove a partner from your Rocket Money account

There are various reasons why you might need to revoke a partner's access to your Rocket Money account. It could be due to a change in relationship status, a decision to maintain separate accounts, or simply a change in financial strategy. Whatever the reason, Rocket Money makes it easy to modify the access rights to your account.

To revoke access from the secondary user to your account in the mobile app:

  1. First tap on the Settings icon (⚙️) in the upper left corner of the Dashboard

  2. Tap on Profile

  3. Scroll to the Account Sharing section

To revoke access from the secondary user to your account on the website:

  1. First tap on the Settings icon (⚙️) in the upper left corner of the Dashboard

  2. Tap on Profile

  3. Click on the Share Account section


For the original account creator:

  1. Tap the option Stop Sharing

  2. You'll be asked to confirm that this is an action that you'd like to take. If you are sure that you'd like to revoke the other person’s access, tap on Yes, Unshare to remove the secondary member from your account.

For the partner/secondary member:

  1. Tap the option Unlink From Account Holder.

  2. Partners will receive a warning that this will reset your Rocket Money account.

  3. You will no longer have access to the primary user's account or data and you will have to start fresh with a new Rocket Money account. Tap Yes, Unlink & Start Over.
