Creating a Financial Goal is currently available for Premium users.
Financial Goals are a safe and easy way to set aside money to help you achieve your savings goals and priorities, no matter how big or small they might be!
When you start a Financial Goal in the Rocket Money app, funds will be automatically transferred from your linked checking account into a non-interest bearing custodial account that we’ve established for your benefit at a partner bank, or another FDIC-insured financial institution, all on your behalf!
To Create your First Financial Goal in the mobile app:
First, tap on Savings from the Accounts section of the Dashboard
In addition to seeing your linked savings accounts, there should be a section called Financial Goals. Tap on Start Saving under the Financial Goals header
Next, tap on Continue at the bottom of the screen
Choose what goal you’d like to work towards. If none of them feel like they apply to you and your situation directly, you can choose Save for Something Else
Enter in a name for your goal and hit Continue
Enter in the amount that you’d like to save for this goal (the number will default to $0) and hit Continue
From there, read about how Financial Goals work and tap Continue at the bottom of the page
Select the Savings Method that you’d like to use.

Hit Continue.
Select the checking account that you’d like to link to your Financial Goal. Read the Terms of Service, check the box, and tap Continue
Finally, enter your legal First and Last name. This information needs to match what’s listed on your Government Issued ID. Tap Continue
Please note: Creating a Financial Goal plan is available exclusively on our mobile app - this feature is not available to complete the above instructions on our website, Rocketmoney.com.
To Create Additional Financial Goals in the Mobile App:
If you’d like to open multiple Financial Goals within Rocket Money, you’ll follow the steps above to locate the Financial Goals section on the Dashboard. The only difference will be that you’d tap on + New Goal instead!
Please keep in mind that not all checking accounts are compatible with our Financial Goals feature. If you are running into any issues creating a Goal, just let the Support team know the name of the bank and where your checking account is located so we can check on this for you!
