If you'd like to close a financial goal, we appreciate you trying out this feature! Currently, you can close your savings plan through the Rocket Money app, as this functionality is not yet available on our website.
Common issues below that may prevent you from closing your financial goal:
There is a pending transfer (either incoming or outgoing). Once the transfer is settled (typically within 3-5 business days), you will be able to close the plan.
The checking account linked to your financial goal has been closed. If this applies to you, please contact our support team with a request to "," and they will guide you through the process.
After addressing these issues, you can follow these steps in the Rocket Money mobile app to close your savings plan:
Expand the Savings section on the Dashboard
Tap on the name of the goal you wish to close
Tap Edit in the upper right corner
Select Edit Goal and scroll to the bottom of the screen
Tap Delete Goal
If these steps do not match what you see in the app, please try the following:
Expand the Savings section on the Dashboard
Tap on your savings plan, located just below your bank account's savings accounts
Select Options in the upper right corner
Tap on Edit Savings Plan
Select Close this account and confirm your decision to close the plan.
Please note: at this time the option to close a financial goal is only available in the mobile app, you will not see this option on the web version.
